Monday, October 24

World History I - We began the week with Carl Azuz and CNN Student News.  Next, we finished up the notes from last week.  Today's info involved describing the life of nobles versus that of peasants during the Middle Ages.  We discussed knights, the role of women, chivalry, and the difficult life of the peasants.  Finally, we ended with a primary source reading about the feudal agreement, and apprenticeships.  Primary Source questions are due tomorrow.

Government - We also watched CNN Student News in government.  We then discussed the role of committees in Congress.  We discussed the purpose and types of committees, and then talked about how committees assign their members and leadership.  Finished class with a guided reading worksheet for chapter five section five, which deals with Congress' support staff and agencies.  Guided Reading worksheets are due tomorrow.

In other news:
-Congratulations to the volleyball team as they won the sectional this past weekend!  The girls move on to play in the regional, which is tomorrow here at UCHS.

-Congratulations to T.J. Schienbein for advancing in the semi-state meet this past weekend at Carmel.  He moves on to compete in the State Cross Country Finals next weekend in Terre Haute.
