Monday, April 2

World History II - Today is Mrs. Cartwright's last day student teaching.  For the first fifteen minutes, she passed back materials and had the kids fill out a survey.  From there, I resumed the teaching duties for the remainder of class.  We watched CNN Student News to start.  After that, the students received a novel that we will read while we discuss World War I.  Each student should have a copy of All Quiet on the Western Front, as well as a packet of questions that go with the reading.  We will be reading this book for the next couple of weeks.  Their packets will be checked and there will be a test when we finish the book.  Finally, we began chapter twenty six section one, which is about the beginning of the Great War.  Ask your student about the alliances formed prior to World War I.

Economics - Again, Mrs. Cartwright's last day of student teaching is today.  She concluded business with this class, and had them fill out a survey as well.  From there, I took over.  We watched CNN Student News to begin, and had a short discussion on one of the stories that was featured.  Then we began chapter eight section one, which is about the Labor Movement, unions, and their formation.
