World History II - In the last couple of days in world history we have continued to discuss World War II. Monday, students did review work from the section one and two assessments. They also completed a map that showed where major actions of WWII took place. Tuesday, we talked about key ideas for the Allies in winning the war, like total war and women's roles. We also talked about the Holocaust on Tuesday. Today, we finished section three. This section covers the turning points of WWII such as the Battle of Coral Sea and the Battle of Midway. It also talks about D-Day and the invasion of Normandy and how the Allies begin to force Germany to retreat. For tomorrow, students need to get a permission slip signed as we will watch the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan as it shows the D-Day scene, and they need to be prepared with the questions for chapter ten from All Quiet on the Western Front.
