World History - In world history lately, we have moved through chapters 15 and 16, and are preparing for the first test, which will occur tomorrow. The test will cover those chapters. Students should have chapter packets, and a study guide to help them prepare.
Economics - In Econ, we have pushed through chapter four at this point, and will move through chapter five in the next day or two. Once we are through chapter five, students will be taking a test. We have covered things like opportunity costs and trade offs, supply and demand, the private sector and the public sector. Again, the big event on the horizon will be the test that will happen once we have finished chapter five.

World History - Today in class, we finished chapter fifteen by completing notes that covered section five about global contact and its effects. Topics covered were the Columbian Exchange, the Commercial Revolution of the 1500's and Mercantilism. Students then were given time to work on/complete a packet of materials covering chapter fifteen. This packet will be due tomorrow for 2nd and 3rd period classes, and on Thursday for 7th. Also, reminder that at the end of this week, students do need to have a current events article.

Welcome back everyone! I hope that you have all enjoyed the Christmas break, and have had a great start to the New Year. It is good to see students again at Bishop Chatard. We are off and running with the second semester today.
World History - These classes have continued from first semester. We will be picking up where we left off with and will be trying to make it all the way through the rest of the textbook. We started up again with a quick review of some rules and regulations on the syllabus, and then picked up with chapter fifteen. The topic today was the first encounters of Europeans with Native Americans in the New World. For homework, students need to get their syllabus' signed.
AP Macro - This is a new class this semester, although I did not see these two groups today.
