Tuesday, February 26

World History - In all world history classes we have moved forward into chaps. 19-21, which cover the Industrial Revolution and its impact.  Students were placed into groups and were assigned a specific topic question that they were to address.  At this point, we have begun presenting their work, and will continue to do so over the next class period or so.  Each group created a presentation as well as a summary note page which will be forwarded to each student in class.  There will be a review packet at the end for students to work on.  One big reminder is that the 3rd quarter ends next Friday.  Students need to have all make up work completed by that point.

Macroeconomics - In macroeconomics classes we have moved through chapter 9, which covered Aggregate Supply and Demand.  We will move into chapter 10 in the next class.  Both classes will have a test once we have completed chapters 9, 10, and 11.  As mentioned above, an important reminder is that the 3rd quarter ends next Friday.  Students need to have all make up work completed by that point.

World History - In world history, we have finished chapter 18.  With that, we will have our next test on Tuesday.  The test will be over chapters 17 and 18.  Students should have a short review packet for both chapters, and should also review their notes to prepare.  After the test, we will move into new material about the Industrial Revolution and build towards World War I.

Economics - In Econ, we have finished chapter 8, which is about business cycles, unemployment, and inflation.  With the completion of this chapter, students will be taking a test next week on chapters 6, 7, and 8.  After the test, we will move into new material covering aggregate supply and aggregate demand.

In other news...

Monday, February 4

World History - Moving through sections pretty quick today.  We covered Ch. 17 Secs. 2 and 3 in class.  Students were emailed the power points prior to us talking about them in class.  Students will need to review those, and skim the book to fill in details.  Students also got a review document in their email that covers all of Ch. 17.  They were given some time in class to get a start on this.  This review packet will be due next Monday.  We will move into Ch. 18 tomorrow.  Finally, students need to be prepared with a current events article for the end of this week.

Economics - Students in economics are presenting information about National Income Accounting, which includes ideas like GDP and how to measure that stat.  On Friday, students broke into small groups, and were given a piece of the chapter, which they are responsible for teaching to the class today.  Students will also need to be prepared with a current events article at the end of the week.
